What is Videojet™ Remote Service (VRS)*?

Videojet Remote Service, or VRS, is a powerful cloud-based solution that can help you manage your printer operations. VRS includes dashboards for monitoring your fleet or individual printers, alerts to notify you when things go wrong, remote assist capabilities for enhanced service and support, and our Rapid Recover automated troubleshooting and repair program, the fastest way to recover your line.

Do I have to connect to the cloud for VRS to work?

VRS is only available as a cloud-based solution. Videojet uses AWS as the hosting partner for VRS.

I have weak or no cell service at my site. What are my options?

A site survey can be conducted to verify signal strength. If there isn’t sufficient signal, we can connect using your plant network pending your IT approval.

Since the CICN is not on my network, do I still need to get IT approval?

IT rules and guidelines vary from company to company. You should engage your IT team and get proper approvals that adhere to your company’s process.

What kind of data is collected?

Data collected is limited to Videojet equipment events (e.g. coder faults, coder parameter changes). Personal data is not collected as part of VRS.

Who is responsible for maintaining the equipment?

Videojet Technologies is responsible for any repairs to the equipment.

How can I get support?

Reach out to your local Videojet engineer or e-mail a Videojet Technical Support Expert at: vrshelpdesk@videojet.com or visit www.videojet.com/remoteservice.

How many printers can be connected to one Remote Edge Server?

One Remote Edge Server can serve up to 30 printers.

Will I need to provide static IP addresses for Videojet™ Remote Service connected printers?

While most of our printers are capable of Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), for ease of installation we suggest keeping all Videojet equipment on static IP addresses, if possible. The Remote Edge Server will always require a static IP address.

What ports are required for Videojet™ Remote Service?

For data only, Printer to Remote Edge Server: Port 3282. Remote Edge Server to Videojet Cloud: Port 443. All data sent to the cloud is encrypted via SSH and transmitted to Amazon Web Services. Remote connection to printers requires additional ports.

How will Videojet printers connect to my Wi-Fi?

Our Wi-Fi Client Kit is an enterprise-level Wi-Fi access point capable of being configured in multiple modes to accommodate almost any Wi-Fi network setup. Typically we use client bridge mode to bridge the printer Ethernet to the Wi-Fi network.
